Job Title: Manager - Merchandising - Retail Industry - MumbaiJob Responsibility:The Manager Merchandising will be responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role involves analyzing market trends, managing inventory, collaborating with vendors, and leading a team of merchandising professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail merchandising, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving sales growth.Merchandising Strategy :- Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with company goals and objectives.- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to make informed decisions about product assortment, pricing, and promotions.Product Management :- Develop product range planning for watches category, sourcing, and procurement processes to ensure a diverse and competitive product mix.- Shall be able curate product assortments that align with brand s image along with company s customer base and cater to diverse customer needs.
-Manage effective planning inventory and forecasting in order to Optimize Sales & maximize Profitability.- Driving key initiatives for Inter Store transfers and consolidating basis slow movers, ageing, limited collections and offer inventory skewing.- Derive P&L at category, brand level for in-house brands and partner brands.Inventory Management :- Allocate merchandise to stores based on demand and sales performance and implement replenishment strategies to maintain product availability.- Oversee inventory planning, forecasting to optimize stock levels, minimize overstock or stock outs, and improve inventory turnover rates with reducing Inventory Ageing.- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize, reduce excess stock, expiry management and minimize carrying costs.Vendor Relations :- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and ensure timely delivery of products.- Collaborate with vendors on exclusive product offerings, promotions, and joint marketing initiatives.Sales Analysis and Reporting :- Analyze sales, inventory, and other retail data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential issues. Provide actionable insights to drive decision-making.- Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.- Prepare regular reports and presentations on sales, inventory, and performance against targets for management and other stakeholders.- Analyze Data on historical sales trends to create accurate sales forecasts by product category, store location, and season.Cross-Functional Collaboration :- Work closely with the marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of merchandising strategies.- Coordinate with store managers to ensure optimal product presentation and customer experience.Customer Focus :- Stay attuned to customer needs and preferences, using customer feedback to guide merchandising decisions.- Implement merchandising initiatives that enhance the overall shopping experience.Key Skills :- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to drive decision-making.- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, merchandising software and tools.- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer preferences.Target Industry : Watches/JewelleryMandatory : 5 years of experience in merchandising, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.Gender: OpenExperience : 5 - 8 yearsJob Location : Matunga, MumbaiWorking Days : 6 DaysTimings :10.30am to 7.30pmQualification : Bachelor s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.Notice Period : Immediate to 30 days (ref:updazz.com)
