Interior Designer Job Requirements 1. Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree / Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

2. Technical Skills

• AutoCAD :
  • Ability to create accurate 2D floor plans, elevations, sections, and working drawings.
  • Knowledge of layers, dimensioning, detailing, and CAD standards.
• SketchUp :
  • Proficiency in creating 3D massing, concept models, and interior layouts.
  • Ability to use extensions and rendering plugins (V-Ray, Enscape preferred).
• 3ds Max :
  • Strong modeling and texturing skills for high-quality 3D visualization.
  • Ability to produce realistic interior renders with proper lighting and materials.
  • Knowledge of rendering engines like V-Ray / Corona is a plus.

3. Design & Creativity

• Strong sense of aesthetics, colour combinations, materials, textures, and space planning.
• Ability to create mood boards, concept presentations, and design themes.

4. Site & Project Knowledge

• Understanding of on-site measurements, materials, carpentry, electrical & plumbing basics.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors and execution teams.
• Experience working with vendors, BOQs, and material selections.

5. Communication & Client Handling

• Ability to understand client requirements and convert them into design solutions.
• Strong presentation skills for explaining drawings and 3D designs to clients.
• Good spoken and written communication.

6. Software & Additional Skills

• Knowledge of Photoshop / Canva for presentations (optional but preferred).
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel for BOQs and costing.

7. Experience

• Minimum 1 3 years experience in interior design (or internships for freshers).
• Portfolio showcasing previous work in residential, commercial, or hospitality projects.
