POSITION TITLE:Zonal - GT - General ManagerDIVISION / DEPARTMENT / FUNCTION: Spices Div/ Sales / General TradeLOCATION:LUDHIANA / NOIDAPrimary Objectives of Position :- To lead the General Trade sales for the GT zone, delivering AOP value and volume targets through targeted growth in blends/ focused or thematic product lines, micro-marketing execution, channel expansion, process compliance, and new product distribution. Drive people capability and ensure business health through structured engagement and governance.- This role requires a progressive leader who combines deep distribution expertise with modern data analytics capabilities and agile ways of working. The ideal candidate will bring fresh perspectives, digital-first thinking, and proven ability to scale GT operations profitably.Geographic ScopeUpper North region comprising key markets across Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, Haryana (excluding Gurgaon, Faridabad).JOB PROFILE:Business Growth & P&L Management- Own complete P&L for assigned GT territory business with accountability for topline growth, profitability, and market share expansion- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets across assigned geographies- Drive aggressive yet sustainable growth through market penetration and distribution expansion- Identify and capitalize on white space opportunities and emerging consumption trends- Manage trade schemes, pricing strategies, and promotional calendars to maximize ROI - Execute NPD launches with aligned distribution and sales delivery as per launch plan.- Strengthen distribution in Grameen GT clusters as per recommendations.- Cost Control-Trade inputs, Manpower related including the travelling expense moderations.Distribution & Market Development :- Build and strengthen distributor network with focus on coverage, reach, and last-mile availability- Drive numeric and weighted distribution improvement across all SKUs- Expand retail universe through systematic outlet addition and classification- Ensure optimal inventory levels across distribution chain to maximize freshness and availability- Develop modern distributor management practices including DMS implementation and digital ordering- Focus management and expansion of stand alone Modern Trade ( SMT) / SSO.Sales Force Effectiveness :- Lead, mentor, and develop team of Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Officers, and field staff- Design and implement productivity improvement initiatives including beat optimization and call effectiveness- Establish clear performance metrics and monitoring mechanisms for the entire sales fleet- Drive progressive incentive schemes aligned with business priorities and individual KPAs- Conduct regular performance calibration and implement corrective action plans where neededMarket Intelligence & Strategy :- Monitor competitive activity, pricing moves, schemes, and new launches- Build strong market intelligence network for real-time feedback on consumer preferences and trade sentiment- Collaborate with marketing on localized activations, sampling programs, and brand-building initiatives- Identify regional product opportunities and portfolio gaps- Work closely with supply chain to ensure seamless availability and service levelsDistributor & Stakeholder Management :- Build strong partnerships with distributors through transparent communication and mutual growth orientation- Conduct regular distributor meets, business reviews, and capability building sessions- Resolve trade issues promptly and maintain high distributor satisfaction scores- Manage key trade relationships and institutional accounts in the region- Represent company at trade forums and industry eventsEXPERIENCE :- 18 years in FMCG General Trade with experience in zonal or regional leadership roles- Proven track record of delivering consistent growth in competitive markets - Experience managing multi-state regions with diverse market characteristics - Foods/spices/staples category experience strongly preferredCore Competencies :- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools- Digital fluency with hands-on experience in sales tech, automation, and digital commerce- Strategic thinking combined with high execution orientation- Entrepreneurial approach with ability to innovate and experiment- Change management skills to drive new ways of working- Should be open for handing other Geographies, basis emerging business needs.- Open for Relocation , as per needs /requirement in due course.QUALIFICATION :Graduate; MBA preferred (ref:updazz.com)
