From Inbound to Final Review as a Quality Engineer Job Description: Our manufacturing division's "Standard Bearer" and "Product Integrity Custodian" is the Quality Engineer. Establishing, auditing, and implementing strict quality assurance procedures throughout the production floor is your main responsibility. This involves turning engineering specifications, engineering blueprints, and customer quality agreements into reliable, error-free manufacturing processes. As the "Guardian of Tolerance compliance," you assume direct execution responsibility for establishing control plans, specifying inspection standards, conducting root cause analyses, overseeing standard testing protocols, and carrying out engineering change orders (ECOs) pertaining to quality adjustments. Key Duties Administration of the Quality Management System (QMS): To ensure complete compliance, maintain, enforce, and audit plant floor activities against worldwide standards. Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): For new component launches, create and submit thorough PPAP documentation, such as Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Root Cause Failure Investigation: To permanently eradicate the root cause of production failures, lead structured corrective and preventative action (CAPA) engineering teams using 8D techniques, 5 Whys, and fishbone diagrams. Gauge R&R and Metrology Validation: Manage precision measuring equipment, oversee calibration schedules, and perform Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) to confirm gauge accuracy. Supplier Quality Accountability: To guarantee raw material consistency, audit shipments from outside vendors, record incoming material rejections, and submit Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
