VMC Machine Operator Tool Room JD: VMC Setter Programmer Tool Room Key Responsibilities : - Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) as per job requirements and engineering drawings - Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and M-code for VMC machines - Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices for machining operations - Perform first-article inspection and in-process quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy - Monitor machine performance and make necessary offsets and adjustments during production runs - Maintain and organize tool room equipment, tooling inventory, and fixtures - Troubleshoot machining issues including tool breakage, dimensional deviations, and surface finish problems - Coordinate with design and production teams to interpret technical drawings and CAD/CAM data - Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area - Document machining parameters, tool life data, and process records accurately ### Requirements / Qualifications - Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related trade - Proven hands-on experience in VMC setting and CNC programming (G-code/M-code) - Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications - Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, EdgeCAM, or similar) is an advantage - Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters - Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and CMM - Ability to work independently and manage multiple machining jobs simultaneously - Good understanding of tool room practices, fixture design, and tooling maintenance - Strong attention to detail with a quality-first approach - Experience in an automotive, engineering, or manufacturing environment is preferred regards, Nedhra - HR
