Precision Metrology & Instrument Handling: Proficiency with dial test indicators (DTI), thread plug gauges, height gauges, vernier callipers, outside/inside micrometres, and bore gauges. The practical capacity to decipher mechanical drawings, section views, surface finish symbols, and GD&T characteristics (perpendicularity, parallelism, position tolerance, flatness) is known as blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge. Fundamentals of Cutting Tools and Fixtures: Good knowledge of milling cutters, carbide insert grades, drill/tap feeds and speeds, coolant application, chip packing problems, and vice/fixture clamping methods.
