HVAC Technician HVAC Utilities & Cooling Equipment Job Description Responsibilities: Installing, assembling, and commissioning heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, such as chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, split systems, ductwork, and piping systems, is known as HVAC/R system installation and commissioning. Preventive Maintenance & Inspections: Carry out planned preventive maintenance procedures, such as lubricating bearings, cleaning condenser/evaporator coils, changing air filters, examining drive belts, verifying electrical connections, and testing safety controls. System Diagnostics & Complex Troubleshooting: Use electrical meters, pressure gauges, leak detectors, and psychrometric charts to diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems in malfunctioning or inefficient systems. Refrigerant Management & EPA Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety regulations, recovery procedures, and environmental protection legislation when recovering, evacuating, recharging, and logging regulated refrigerants. Thermostats, relays, motor starters, frequency drives, pressure switches, and direct digital control inputs and outputs should all be wired, tested, and calibrated.
