Position SummaryThe Premium Counselor is responsible for delivering end-to-end, high-touch counseling services to students and families who enroll in our premium counseling packages. This role involves personalized guidance across multiple study abroad destinations, from initial engagement to post-admission support. The counselor acts as a trusted advisor, ensuring seamless student experience, high satisfaction, and successful outcomes.Key Responsibilities1. Student Engagement & Needs Assessment- Conduct detailed onboarding sessions with students and parents to understand academic background, career aspirations, financial considerations, and preferred destinations.- Set clear timelines, deliverables, and communication channels for the counseling journey.2. University & Course Shortlisting- Research and recommend suitable universities and programs across destinations (US, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.) based on student profile and aspirations.- Balance academic fit, career opportunities, and financial feasibility while advising.- Maintain updated knowledge of admission trends, program rankings, and destination-specific requirements.3. Application Management- Create and track personalized application calendars for each student.- Guide students through online application portals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.- Provide structured guidance, review, and editing support for Statements of Purpose (SOPs), essays, Letters of Recommendation (LORs), and resumes.- Ensure timely submission of applications across multiple destinations.4. Test Preparation Alignment- Collaborate with internal test-prep faculty for IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, GRE, GMAT, SAT, or AP as per student requirements.- Track student progress and align application deadlines with test readiness.5. Interview & Visa Guidance- Provide coaching for university/embassy interviews.- Conduct mock interviews and give detailed feedback.- Support with visa documentation, DS-160, financial documents, and visa SOPs.- Stay updated on evolving visa regulations and country-specific requirements.6. Scholarships & Financial Planning- Identify and guide students through relevant scholarships, grants, and assistantships.- Help students plan financial documentation for loan applications and visa purposes.7. Post-Admission Support- Support students in accepting offers, making deposits, and handling deferrals if required.- Guide students through pre-departure formalities: accommodation search, insurance, forex, and travel planning.- Conduct pre-departure orientations and connect students with alumni or peer groups.8. Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align student needs with service delivery.- Provide feedback to operations and management on trends, challenges, and improvements.- Maintain CRM updates for every stage of the student journey.9. Student Relationship Management- Serve as the single point of contact for premium students and families.- Ensure proactive communication and timely updates to minimize escalations.- Collect and document feedback/testimonials to drive referrals and word-of-mouth.Key Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of global education systems, admission processes, and visa requirements across major destinations.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage hightouch client relationships.- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple students across destinations.- Strong editing/reviewing skills for essays, SOPs, and LORs.- Proactive problem-solving and ability to manage time-sensitive tasks.- Tech-savvy, with comfort using CRM, application portals, and productivity tools.Qualifications- Bachelor s/Master s degree in any discipline (preferably international education, counseling, or related field).- Minimum 7 - 10 years counseling experience in overseas education (premium/holistic counseling experience preferred).- Track record of successful admits to top universities across destinations is a plus.
