Sr. Technical Writer - Responsibilities- Creates, develops, writes, and edits operational and instructional documents to support the end-users of company products; ensures that documents conform to existing department style guidelines and quality assurance standards- Follows instructions from team checklists, specifications, trademark and branding guidance, SOPs, and other documents to produce high quality deliverables- Conducts interviews with technical staff and other functional groups to gather information for projects while managing the creation, review, and final updates to deliverables- Provides appropriate inputs required by department illustrators to create illustrations and artwork for final documents- Learns and applies established conventions and workflows for developing and handling content in the CCMS- Assists with transfer/conversion of non-XML content to XML in CCMS- Revises existing documents to support product changes- Participates in peer reviews of individual work and that of other team members- Prepares translation requests with a complete list of target languages; packages source files for translation and redlines with clear translation instructions- Receives translations, reviews them for accuracy and completeness, and then processes and secures files for review/approval/archival in SAP and for publication- Creates a LIT spreadsheet detailing project deliverables and their relationships to one another, shares this with the specialist responsible for release of literature, and archives the LIT spreadsheet on the team s SharePoint site- Effectively manages multiple projects and associated deliverables required for product launch as well as for testing, preliminary builds, or regulatory submission- Explores opportunities for using approved Generative AI tools to support standard workRequired Qualifications, Education, and Experience- Bachelor s degree in Technical Communication or related field of study preferred- 5 years of experience in technical writing- Proven writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail- Proven ability to adjust writing style and content according to audience needs, including clinicians/operators, technicians and engineers, and patients or home users- Proficiency with commonly used XML authoring and non-XML publishing tools (oXygen, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Word)- Working knowledge of Technical Communication practices, techniques, and standards- Familiarity with document production processes for print, CD, and web-based publication- Commitment to collaboration and open communication with manager and team- Willingness to stretch and qualify for special roles and responsibilities on the team (ref:updazz.com)
