Your major task is to make sure the equipment operates as efficiently as possible while adhering to the strict tolerances outlined in engineering drawings. You are in charge of handling workpieces physically, keeping an eye on cutting efficiency, and making sure the finished product satisfies quality requirements. A meticulous professional with a good mechanical aptitude and the capacity to operate in a high-precision production setting is the ideal candidate. Responsibilities Operation of the Machine: Perform production runs on 3-axis or 4-axis Vertical Machining Centers in accordance with the precise guidelines given by the Programmer or Setter. Workpiece Loading: Make sure the mounting surfaces are clean and properly aligned by securing raw castings or blocks into clamps, pneumatic vises, or bespoke fixtures. In-Process Quality Control: Verify dimensions against the design drawing by routinely inspecting items with precise tools. Tool management involves keeping an eye on cutting noises and tool life, replacing dull or worn-out inserts, and updating the machine controller as necessary to avoid part rejection. Basic Offsets: To account for tool wear and maintain tolerance in dimensions, make small "Wear Offset" adjustments on the controller. Coolant Management: To avoid machine jams, keep the cutting fluid at the right concentration and make sure that metal chips are removed on a regular basis. Skills: Measurement accuracy: adept with Go/No-Go gauges, height gauges, micrometers, and vernier calipers. Reading blueprints: The capacity to decipher 2D engineering drawings and comprehend fundamental GD&T symbols. The capacity to manipulate delicate components and precisely operate machine controls.
