Responsibilities Machine Operation: Run pre-programmed programs on the VMC after loading castings or raw materials into precision vices or fixtures. Dimensional Inspection: Compare parts to the "First-Off" sample and engineering drawings using calibrated measurement tools. Tool Monitoring: Keep an eye out for odd noises or vibrations during the machining process that can point to tool wear or breakage; replace inserts or tools as directed by the Setter. Deburring and Cleaning: Use hand tools to remove burrs, or sharp edges, from completed parts. Make sure the parts are cleaned and lubricated to stop corrosion. Cycle Time Management: Keep an eye on the machine's "Green Light" time to make sure production goals are reached; report any unscheduled downtime right once. Coolant & Chip Management: To guarantee ideal cutting conditions, regularly remove metal chips from the machine bed and maintain the right coolant concentrations and levels. Skills: Technical aptitude includes familiarity with CNC control panels and a basic understanding of vertical milling. Measurement Proficiency: The capacity to precisely read and understand both digital and analog measurement devices.
