Company Overview:Our client is a leading media and entertainment company operating a prominent Over-The-Top (OTT) platform in India. They deliver a diverse range of content, including original series, movies, and live events, to millions of subscribers across the country. The platform is known for its high-quality programming and innovative approach to content creation and distribution.Role Overview:The Content Commissioning role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and commissioning original content for the OTT platform. This role collaborates closely with writers, directors, producers, and other content creators to develop compelling and engaging programming that aligns with the platform s content strategy and audience preferences. The individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the platform s content slate and driving subscriber growth and engagement.Key Responsibilities:- Identify and evaluate potential content ideas and proposals from various sources, including production houses, writers, and directors, to build a robust pipeline of projects.- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key players in the content creation ecosystem to stay informed about emerging trends and talent.- Oversee the development process of commissioned content, providing creative input and guidance to ensure projects meet the platform s quality standards and strategic objectives.- Negotiate and manage content acquisition deals, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the platform.- Collaborate with the marketing and programming teams to develop effective strategies for promoting and distributing commissioned content to maximize audience reach and impact.- Monitor the performance of commissioned content, analyzing viewership data and audience feedback to inform future content decisions.- Manage budgets and timelines for commissioned projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.Required Skillset:- Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate high-quality content with strong commercial potential.- Proven experience in content development, from concept to delivery, within the media or entertainment industry.- Strong understanding of the Indian OTT landscape and audience preferences.- Excellent negotiation and deal-making skills.- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.- A bachelor s degree in film, media, or a related field is preferred.- 5-8 years of relevant experience in content development and media planning.- Adaptable to on-site work setup in Mumbai.
