Line Balancing & Optimization: To remove bottlenecks, balance assembly line workloads, and increase overall equipment effectiveness, examine cycle times and process workflows. Resource and Labor Allocation: Oversee floor operator shift schedules, allocate work according to skill matrices, and maximize labor utilization throughout production cells. Continuous Improvement: To reduce process waste, support shop-floor Lean initiatives, apply 5S cleanliness standards, Kaizen continuous improvements, and Value Stream Mapping. Troubleshooting & Downtime Mitigation: Reduce unscheduled setup or breakdown times by working with the maintenance engineering team to quickly identify minor mechanical or electrical machine defects. Standard Operating Procedures: To maintain operational uniformity over shifts, develop, update, and audit standardized work instructions and production protocols. Required Skills: Manufacturing Process Literacy: A strong technical grasp of site-specific procedures. Lean Manufacturing Tools: Able to implement key Lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED). Blueprint & ERP Fluency: Excellent comprehension of engineering drawings and the ability to follow material routing using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Data-Driven Diagnostics: The ability to recognize declines in line performance by evaluating fundamental production parameters (OEE, scrap percentages, cycle times). Floor Leadership & Communication: Self-assured, lucid interpersonal abilities to oversee, inspire, and guide heterogeneous groups of floor operators and technicians under time constraints Strong psychological flexibility to handle sudden mechanical failures, shortages of materials, or fast-moving production crises is known as resilience and agility.
