Molded Part Extraction & Degating: Use pneumatic nippers and manual trimming equipment to carefully extract molded plastic pieces from automated conveyor lines or machine drops. In-Line Quality Sorting: Visually analyze newly ejected plastic components on a regular basis to look for common molding defects such short shots, flash, sink marks, burn marks, warping, and silver streaks. Post-Molding Procedures & Finishing: Apply traceability batch stickers, smooth flash deflashing, manual hole deburring, snap-fitting attachments, and other basic secondary adjustments to parts. Required Skills: Industrial machinery agility is the ability to work securely and comfortably around moving robot arms, automated hydraulic clamping platen systems, and high-temperature barrels. Mastery of Manual Trimming Tools: Quick and clean operation of specialized hand tools, deburring blades, and aiippers without causing product damage or hand fatigue. Basic Molding Defect Identification: The capacity to quickly identify visible surface defects in plastic parts and notify setup technicians before significant amounts of scrap are generated. Proficiency in recording production counts, matching box quantities to batch cards, and utilizing simple measurement instruments like plug gauges or digital calipers are examples of fundamental shop math and measurement skills.
