SMT Engineer Build the Backbone of Modern Electronics Job Description The SMT Operator serves as both a "Electronic Assembly Specialist" and a "Precision Automation Anchor" in our integrated electronics and plastics production sector. Setting up, running, and maintaining high-speed Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automated assembly lines is your key responsibility. These lines fill printed circuit boards (PCBs), which are then immediately integrated into our unique injection-molded plastic housings. As the "Micro-Precision Gatekeeper," you make that solder paste printers work smoothly, automated reflow ovens run at ideal thermal profiles, and component reels are loaded precisely. To keep our advanced component assembly line operating at optimal quality and efficiency, the ideal candidate is a tech-savvy machine operator who combines an awareness of automated electronics assembly with a rigorous adherence to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety procedures. Responsibilities: Automated Line Operation: Configure, operate, and keep an eye on fully automated SMT line equipment, such as multi-zone reflow ovens, high-speed component pick-and-place machines, and solder paste screen printers. Feeder loading and continuity setup involve reading component pick lists, loading component reels, trays, and tubes into mechanical feeders, and cross-referencing part numbers with current Bill of Materials (BOM) configurations to ensure that the right parts don't end up on the board. Solder Paste Inspection & Printing: To guarantee accurate solder application, operate and modify automatic screen printers while keeping an eye on paste thickness, alignment settings, and stencil cleanliness. Automated Optical Inspection Triage: Keep an eye on integrated AOI system readouts to promptly identify and fix surface placement mistakes such solder bridging, skewed components, missing chips, and tombstoning. ReflowOven Thermal Monitoring: Keep an eye on and document oven profile variables to make sure thermal zones adhere to the stringent soldering requirements of the electronic assemblies. ESD & Cleanroom Protocol Adherence: Within the component assembly zone, strictly enforce all anti-static safety regulations, such as wearing required ESD smocks, grounded wrist straps, and specific footwear. Skills: Industrial machinery agility is the ability to work safely around high-temperature barrels, automated hydraulic clamping platen systems, and moving robot arms with comfort and spatial confidence. Mastery of Manual Trimming Tools: The ability to quickly and neatly operate specialized hand tools, deburring blades, and air nippers without causing product damage or hand fatigue. Basic Molding Defect Identification: The capacity to quickly identify visible surface problems in plastic components and notify setup experts before significant volumes of scrap are generated. Basic Shop Math & Measurement Skills: The ability to keep track of production counts, match box quantities to batch cards, and use simple measurement instruments like digital calipers or plug gauges.
