Paintshop Quality Engineer Inspection Plans Job Description Experience: 0 to 3 yrs Salary: Based on Company Norms Education: Diploma/BE in Mech Location: In And Around Chennai Your Duties: Coating Defect Root Cause Analysis: By linking surface flaws to process factors, you may analyze and permanently remove complicated paint shop defects including craters, orange peel, pinholes, runs, sags, fish-eyes, and paint peeling. Surface Testing & Paint Laboratory Governance: Manage and carry out both destructive and non-destructive paint quality tests, such as gloss meter assessments, impact resistance checks, stone-chip resistance testing, cross-hatch adhesion tests, and color matching using spectrophotometers. PT & CED Process Control Auditing: Track and confirm daily chemical parameter logs, such as pH levels, conductivity, chemical concentration points by titration, and total bacterial counts, across the Pre-Treatment and Cathodic Electrodeposition lines. Dry Film Thickness (DFT) Profile Mapping: Use ultrasonic or magnetic thickness gauges to perform precise multi-point DFT inspections on coated substrates to make sure paint layers meet strict specification tolerances without wasting costly paint. Cleanroom Particle & Dirt Auditing: To stop dirt-in-paint defect outbreaks, oversee ongoing cleanroom contamination control audits, analyze airborne particle counters, verify lint-free clothing compliance, and manage tacky-mat or oven-dirt tracking logs. Baking Curve (Oven Profile) Validation: To guarantee proper paint cross-linking and hardness, examine multi-channel data-logger thermal runs to confirm curing oven temperature uniformity profiles.
