Mechanical Engineer Manufacturing Process Optimization Job Description Responsibilities: 3D CAD Modelling & Detailed Mechanical Drafting: Create, design, and alter 2D engineering production drawings, assemblies, surface models, and 3D CAD models in accordance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards for intricate mechanical systems, enclosures, mechanisms, and tooling. Structural, Thermal, and Kinematic Analysis: To verify mechanical integrity, maximise strength-to-weight ratios, avert structural failures, and guarantee thermal dissipation compliance, conduct static, dynamic, fatigue, vibration, and thermal simulations utilising FEA and CFD software tools. Apply DFMA principles to mechanical designs to ensure smooth integration with manufacturing processes like CNC machining, sheet metal bending, plastic injection moulding, casting, extrusion, additive manufacturing, and automated assembly line operations. Prototyping, Lab Testing, and Design Validation: Organise the production of tangible engineering prototypes, install test fixtures, carry out mechanical testing procedures, examine failure modes, and refine designs.
