AutoCAD Design Specialist Industrial Product Engineering Job Description Experience: 0 to 3 yrs Salary: Based on Company Norms Education: Diploma/BE in Mech Location: In And Around Chennai Your Duties: Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, orthographic projections, section views, exploded assemblies, component blueprints, and shop layouts using AutoCAD. Develop 3D parametric models and assemblies (using AutoCAD 3D, SolidWorks, or Inventor) to visualize and test mechanical interactions prior to shop-floor fabrication. Apply correct Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, surface finishes, fits, and material specifications across all engineering drawings. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and tool designers to incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles into all CAD drawings. Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), design revisions, drawing revision histories, and CAD file archiving within product lifecycle management (PLM) or ERP systems. Verify dimensional accuracy, Bill of Materials (BOM), part numbers, and technical notes on all released drawings to prevent shop-floor fabrication errors.
