Responsibilities : 1. You will perform monitoring, administration, report and maintenance of the PostgreSQL MongoDB, and MySQL databases within customer hosted environments. 2. You will actively contribute to the configuration, layout, and performance tuning of the production infrastructure. 3. You will be an integral part of the Development team and work closely with the following teams : - Product Owner - DevOps - Stakeholders 4. You will respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues as needed. 5. You will support requests for potentially unscheduled database backups and restores. 6. You will participate in rotating 24x7 - on call- support coverage for database related issues and strive towards minimizing database downtime. 7. You will need to conduct routine maintenance activities during scheduled weekend windows. 8. You will prepare system and programming tests that require interfacing with both hardware and software. 9. You will ensure that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies are controlled and adhered to. 10. You will create and update existing documentation of processes and procedures. 11. You will participate in capacity management, expansion and growth planning. 12. You will work towards managing parameters to provide fast query responses within the database. Requirements & Experience : We are looking for our candidates to have : 1. 5 years of experience in 24/7 support as a DBA. 2. A Bachelors Degree in CS, or a related field. 3. The ability to detect and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention issues. 4. Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery and replication solutions and their best practices. 5. Knowledge of Cassandra and MongoDB. 6. Demonstrated experience implementing/deploying database servers. 7. Expertise in writing SQL queries, analyzing query performance using query plans and tuning query performance. 8. Experience using Agile or other iterative methodologies regarding version and revision control. 9. The ability to participate in the requirements process, providing feedback and engagement to ensure sound process development. 10. Have a strong sense of security and reflect a high level of discretion and confidentiality. 11. Have strong communication and organizational skills. 12. Experience working with AWS. Additional skills that would be a strong plus : 1. A Masters Degree in a related field. 2. Experience working with Docker Containers in a Kubernetes cluster. 3. Certifications or an interest in pursuing certifications.
