Tooling Engineer Manufacturing Tools & Equipment Job Description: Responsibilities: Design, modify, and improve press tools, injection molds, die-casting dies, jigs, fixtures, and special-purpose tooling using CAD/CAM software. Oversee precision machining and toolmaking operations, including conventional and CNC milling, turning, grinding, wire EDM, and spark erosion. Diagnose and repair tooling defects, wear, burrs, flash, and dimensional inaccuracies, conducting root cause failure analysis (RCFA) to extend tool life. Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), refurbishments, and spare part management for all production molds, dies, and fixtures. Perform trial runs and tryouts for new tooling (T0/T1 trials), inspecting trial samples against engineering specifications using metrology instruments and GD&T principles. Maintain comprehensive tooling documentation, including tool drawings, revision logs, maintenance histories, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and bill of materials (BOM).
