Production Engineer Advancing Process Performance Job Description Planning, directing, and optimizing manufacturing production processes to achieve daily output targets, maintain product quality standards, minimize operational waste, and maximize productivity on the shop floor. Key Duties Monitor and manage daily manufacturing production targets, shift schedules, and shop-floor workflow to ensure on-time delivery schedules. Analyze production bottlenecks, cycle times, and line balances to implement Lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping). Collaborate with the Quality and Maintenance Engineering team to resolve workshop process deviations, equipment downtime, and product nonconformities. Prepare and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and control plans. Perform root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) on production defects and yield losses to drive continuous process improvement. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) testing, tool setup, line balancing, and process validation activities. Track shift key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield rate, scrap rate, takt time, labor efficiency, and overall equipment efficiency.
